The prospect of locating a new multi-purpose stadium on the old Rheem property at Barton and Bay streets in the North End is exciting -- and timely.
And it's wonderful news for a community that has endured smelly roofing plants, scrap yards and abandoned factories. ...
[A] new 30,000-person stadium in the North End will trigger a wide range of dynamic new opportunities.
Timely rehabilitation of long abandoned brownfields will enable those in our community with courage, determination and vision to optimize the community with houses, townhomes, affordable housing and newer commercial facilities.
They will leverage the quality of life that Northenders have known about for decades.
